Are people still truly blaming Labour for everything? Dont you think the Tories have had long enough to at least make some sort of difference apart from looking after their parasitic city interests? This government has been an Allardyce-esque disgrace.

The next election will be like choosing between a pile of shit, a bucket of diarrhoea and a rancid old bag of sick. For anyone to attempt to stick up for any of these cunts is, frankly, blind stupidity.

Re: Pay Cuts.
cuts? But aren't our Govt saying that things are on the up, and even the Daily Mail was trumpeting that living standards are back to pre-crash levels?

Austerity is just another excuse for taxation of the masses, while those at the very top keep on stealing and lying.

Re: Pay Cuts.
The cuts coming after the election in May will happen whether is a Labour or Tory government, or coalition.
Should we blame Thatcher for that?

In fact why don't we exhume her body and bring her remains to a mass rally at Hyde Park so we can have a real hate fest.

When was it she left power? Ah yes over 24 years ago. In the meantime we have had several Labour governments run by Messrs Blair and Brown plus a massive economic crisis a few years ago.
But feel free to blame Maggie for every ill plaguing this marvellous country.

Re: Pay Cuts.
So Paul they didn't need to cut wages and they aren't making the 37% saving they wanted on everyone's wages elsewhere? not one cut elsewhere or layoff?

If that's the case you have to assume the people running P&O ferries are fucking stupid as they risked strikes and upset their employees for no good reason since they didn't need to make any cuts at all.

Re: Pay Cuts.
The cuts are obviously for a reason. So when they dont happen, and the company goes pop, what happens then?

Perhaps it was shareholder pressure to increase profit margins, so not necessarily a critical matter of the actual viability of the company.

You can thank the city analysts for constantly talking up company performance until perpetual profit increases become an expectation.

How long does Thatcher have to be six feet under for sad gits to stop blaming her for their inadequacies?

Re: Pay Cuts.
I am pleased to hear that it is a British workforce still considering the changes going on. From my experience EU immigrants are no cheaper anyway, illegals yes, but there are hefty fines as deterrents these days.

Pleased for you Paul, good news for once. Out of interest do you work with all English as it is often suggested that cuts are just a smoke screen to bring in cheaper foreigners?

Re: Pay Cuts.
From Jan 1st new and cleaner (more expensive) fuel has to be used. They did start with that as the reason but this was changed after they decided to pass it on to the customers.
Also you cannot cut one department because of fuel, it would have to be across the board.

, 9:01 Fri Mar 6
Re: Pay Cuts.
Paul, has this climb down anything to do with the fact that fuel is much cheaper due to the fall in oil prices?

paul6565 9:00 Fri Mar 6
Re: Pay Cuts.
Lots of different excuses used for the cuts, all ended up being changed. The company have thousands of employees and all will be recieving a pay rise shortly. We were the only department being cut.
We are busier than we can ever remember. Market share is up and record numbers of freight through the port last year.

Re: Pay Cuts.
its a clever way of getting people to leave then bring in cheaper labour, its the British way you know.bloody Thatcher.
